The emotion of photographing your own daughter’s Bridal Session

Hi, welcome to Bill Roop Photography’s official blog site. I have been so excited to start doing this. For my opening blog I want to talk about the unbelievable honor of photographing my own daughter’s Bridal Portraits. Though it took place about a year ago, it still feels like yesterday. I was a very big part of my daughter’s dress buying process, other than writing the check, haha. She brought us along as she picked it out and also throughout all of the fittings that took place prior to bringing it home. As if it wasn’t enough to be there for all of that, she asked if I would photograph her Bridal Portraits. There was no way I was saying no to that. We went to Cherokee Country Club for the shoot and I cannot tell you the emotions that run through you as you begin a Bridal Shoot of your own daughter. She was absolutely stunning. I was fine while actually shooting. Keeping my mind on the shot framed right, lighting…etc. But between shots, when we were changing locations is when it started hitting me. I saw images of her when she was a little girl, playing outside, and I found it hard to believe that she was graduated from college and getting ready to walk down the isle. I wouldn’t trade that feeling for anything in the world and I thank God that I was able to do this. I’d like to share with you a few images from that day. Thanks for tuning in, see you all again soon.
